Buhari meets Chinese president’s envoy in Aso Rock

– President Buhari met with with the special envoy of the president of the People’s Republic of China, Yang Jiechi, at the Presidential Villa on Thursday, September 5

 

– The minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, received Jiechi at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa

 

– The envoy had previously visited Kenya where he delivered President Xi Xinping’s message to Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta

 

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, September 5 met with the special envoy of the president of the People’s Republic of China, Yang Jiechi, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

 

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Nigerian leader and Chinese President Xi Jinping’s special envoy would discuss bilateral ties.

 

Legit.ng gathers that the meeting started in the president’s office around 11:30am.

 

The minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, received Jiechi at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa.

Chinese companies are currently executing various developmental projects in Nigeria including the modernization of Nigeria Railway as well as rehabilitation and expansion of some airports across the country. Jiechi had on Wednesday, September 4 visited Kenya where he delivered President Xinping’s message to Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.
